Logout of Facebook on Friendly iPad app

Once you have installed the Friendly app, you will be able to login to Facebook from your iPad; just like using Facebook from a web browser on a laptop or desktop computer, you have several options when it comes to security and credentials. In this tutorial, we will show you how to logout from your Facebook account from your iPad, most specifically using the Friendly app. We'll go from the most convenient scenario, to the most secure, and give you a few best practice tips and tricks.

Manually sign out of a Facebook account on your iPad

Tip: before signing out of the account "remembered" on your iPad, check out how to "Sign in to another Facebook account on iPad" - this option allows you in effect to remain signed in to multiple profiles at the same time - by using fast switching.

As mentioned in the referenced tutorials, the Friendly app for iPad will automatically store your credentials, for your convenience: a single tap one of the previously used profile pictures will automatically login to that particular account, which might be a security concern; if you lose your iPad, immediately change your Facebook password to prevent anyone from accessing your account.

• To manually sign out from the current account, tap on "Friendly" button in the top left corner of the screen, and a menu will dropdown: then, pick the red "Logout" button:
  
  
• As soon as you do, Friendly will sign out of the selected Facebook account, and bring you back to the "welcome" screen. If you have added more than one profile, you will still see a picture for each of these accounts (a single tap on these will allow you or someone with access to your iPad) to login to these accounts: just follow the same steps to sign out of these as well.

Protect your Facebook account on iPad without signing out

The Friendly app for iPad includes another option, which you may find more practical to use: if gives you a reasonably good level of security, while sparing you from having to type in your entire Facebook login next time. While logged into one of your profiles, tap on the "Friendly" button in the top left corner, and choose "PIN Code" at the bottom of the menu. A square keypad will open on screen:

Type 4 digits and tap on the "Set" button to apply the pin code protection. Once you do, you will notice a couple of changes right away: the green button now reads "Lock & Switch Account", and the "PIN Code" slider is now set to "ON". To disable pin code protection, just slide it back to "OFF".

To do something else on your iPad without logout, just tap on "Lock & Switch Account" - if you are alone, and feel safe about access to your Facebook account, you can just double-click on the Home button on your iPad itself and switch to another application.

Caution: but if you do leave Friendly without locking it (exiting with Home button), re-launching it will allow anyone who has your iPad to automatically get back into your Facebook account, defeating the purpose of the Lock feature!
